Work-At-Height Rescue

COURSE SUMMARY
Work at Height is the main cause of workplace fatalities, so it's important that all employers and duty holders ensure that the work is planned, supervised and carried out safely. An essential part of the planning process must also include arrangements for emergencies and rescue in the event of a fall. Rescue is the responsibility of the employer/building owner and NOT the emergency services.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The main objective of Working-At-Height Rescue is to train the participants to gain the knowledge and the skills needed to successfully rescue the people involved in the event of a fall emergency during any Working-At-Height related activity.

COURSE CONTENT
- The hierarchy of controls when carrying out Work at Height (WAH) Legislation
- How a rescue kit work
- Roles of Rescue personnel
- Harness inspection and wearing
- Using a rescue kit

The course gradually builds up experience and knowledge of how to use the rescue kit and complete a rescue whilst working at height. To achieve certification the delegate must complete every part of the course and demonstrate to the trainer complete confidence when carrying out a rescue.

ENTRY REQUIREENTS
- The participant should be medically fit
- The participant should have attended any Work-At-Height related course before and should have around 2 years of Work at Height experience.
Additional details: This course is a practical course, delegates will required to bring their own PPE (Steel toe-caped safety shoes, gloves, overall, hi-viz jacket and hard hat with chin strap).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Workers who will be part of a first response rescue team.
This course is ideal for construction workers, scaffolders and facilities maintenance engineers. Others that require a practical enhancement to the Work-At-Height Course for Worker/Supervisor.

CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course, candidates will receive a Certificate of Attendance (valid for 2 years).

COURSE DURATION
1 day, and as such will take no longer than 8 hours.
